Olivia Hurley
Midwife
- IntroductionFirstly, I would like to Congratulate you and your whanau as you begin this very special journey which is unique and a life changing experience. A little about myself, I grew up in the South Island but spent my early adult years living in the north island working in the fashion industry, I love to create clothes and be creative with different textures. When my boys were young, I had a small children's label which I sold at markets including cloth nappies. I'm interested in the arts, music, and like to explore nature in my spare time. I live in Lyttleton with my family renovating our home over here.
- About MeFollowing the birth of my two boys, who are now young adults, drove my passion for midwifery and women’s health. It's incredible how we create new life into our world. It's always such an honour and privilege to be part of this journey as you prepare and welcome your baby into your life. I have been a midwife since 2013, working alongside women and families of all ethnicities often learning new cultures values, beliefs and customs along the way, which is something I really enjoy and makes my role as a midwife feel really special being part of your family over this time. For me, my aim is to provide you with a holistic approach with trust and support as essential elements of my practice. Information sharing is key, so you and your whanau can make informed decisions which are right for you, your baby, family/whanau. I work in all areas of Christchurch and will support you were ever you feel safe to birth your baby, Home, St Georges, Lincoln or Christchurch Women's Hospital. I take a small caseload so that I can work in partnership with you and provide quality of care, antenatally, labour, the birth and 6 weeks following. I'm feel very fortunate to be part of Pregnancy Matters Midwives' team and to have Leticia Johnson as my backup, who will care for you in the same way I do when I'm not available. I would love to hear from you and be part of your journey, call me 021 0381314 Wish you all the very best Olivia
As a practice, we absolutely share a vision to keep things as low-intervention as we possibly can and try to promote our wonderful primary units (Lincoln, St Georges and Rangiora).
