Introduction
Kia Ora, my name is Amelia. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I am lucky to work along side a team of amazing midwives at Pregnancy Matters. I have recently relocated from Auckland and am loving the change of city and pace of work!
About Me
I decided one day that my long run within retail management was no longer for me so decided to start my journey in study and became a midwife. I have always loved empowering and working alongside women; I graduated in Auckland in 2019 and worked at Auckland City Hospital, gaining a lot of knowledge and skills in a tertiary/high risk setting. I made the change to Christchurch end of September 2021 for a personal challenge as I have always only lived in Auckland! I started my journey at Christchurch Women’s Hospital where I met the amazing team who I now work alongside but in a different setting. Being a lead maternity carer in the community has always been my aim as a midwife and I have finally been able to achieve that goal in Christchurch City. I love caring for women and their whanau, working along side them in partnership to achieve their pregnancy, labour, birth and parenting goals. I am yet to have children myself however see my cat Cara as my baby (I’ll happily show you photos).

As a practice, we absolutely share a vision to keep things as low-intervention as we possibly can and try to promote our wonderful primary units (Lincoln, St Georges and Rangiora).
